A huge Kudos goes out to the 6th and 7th grade bands for an amazing concert last Wednesday! A special note for the 7th grade band: Paul (lead guitar) from the Trashcan Sinatras says a special thank you for your performance of “All Night” and that it was magical! 🙂
8th/Jazz/Alum Concert Tuesday, May 9th
Our final concert of the year will feature our Jazz band, 8th Grade band, and over 40 ASMS Alumni! The concert will start at 7pm, but students will need to arrive at 5:30 for run-thru and tuning. Alum will join us for a run thru around 6:30. Dress is Jazz uniforms/Concert Uniforms. It is going to be an amazing concert that you won’t want to miss!
Those students that signed up for the Slammer’s performance should report to the stadium at 6pm on the 1st base line. You MUST have your ticket to get in! (Those will be passed out when I receive them this upcoming week)
Promotion – 7th Grade Band
All information for Promotion has been sent home with students Friday/this upcoming Monday. Students need to report to PSHS Gym at 4:15, percussion at 4 pm to set up (we are using PSHS drums). Please have a ride at 6pm for your students outside the main entrance–we cannot wait for students to call for a ride. Students must bring their own instruments to and from PSHS and be dressed in their full concert band uniforms. Absolutely NO electronics will be allowed during the ceremony, as it will be distracting to the 8th graders and their families.
Instrument Summer Use/Return
Any student that is borrowing a SCHOOL-OWNED instrument for home use has received a form for summer sign out (6th and 7th grade). 8th graders and any student NOT using an instrument over the summer were given a paper with dates that their instruments need to be returned to the school by. Please adhere to these dates, as the school will be under construction again this summer immediately after school is out and inventory needs to be completed. If you have any questions, please e-mail me.
That’s all for now…I hope everyone has a wonderful week! 🙂
